Camouflage with a Concealer

Now that you’ve got the perfect concealer, here are tips to apply it correctly to zip those dark circles and blemishes and get a radiant glow.

Camouflage Dark Circles: Prep the under eye area with a little eye cream at least 10 minutes before applying the concealer. This is to prevent it from looking too flaky or caked. Place two or three dabs of concealer, starting just beneath the inner corner of your eye and moving out to a point parallel to the iris. Now blend the concealer into the area, extending it just short of the outer corners of the eye to avoid it from emphasizing the fine lines.

Camouflage Patches, Birthmarks and Roseacea: The shade of the concealer will depend on the color of the birthmark. Check the color wheel and pick a complementary color to neutralize the birthmark. You can use a yellow or orange based concealer for dark pigmentation or a concealer with green undertones for roseacea.

Apply a little moisturizer if you have dry skin, to allow the color to blend smoothly. Use a brush or a sponge for even coverage.

Camouflage Acne Scars: It’s a good idea to choose a water-based concealer with built-in acne medication if you are prone to acne. While applying, dot small amounts of concealer with a finger or cotton swab. Blend carefully, and then apply pressed powder or a foundation over the entire face for a smooth, blemish-free look.
