People who have lost a good tooth or teeth because of injury or a disease would love to get back their pearly whites. Dental implants may be an ideal option in such a case.

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that a periodontist places into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are more tooth-saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support. Dental implants look and feel natural and can be the right substitute for that lost tooth because implants can look like your own teeth.

Dental implants are a permanent and fixed solution to missing teeth. A titanium screw is placed into the jaw bone to replace the natural root of the tooth and to attach the teeth implants. Once the bone grows around the screw and holds it firmly in place, a process that takes 3-6 months, a crown is then placed onto the fixed screw to replace the original tooth.

Single or multiple dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth or all the teeth in the upper and lower jaw. The procedure of placing dental implants is carried out under local anesthetic.

Dental implants provide the nearest alternative to natural teeth and are an ideal option for people in good general oral health. These look aesthetically good and provide complete confidence when biting, chewing and laughing.
