Phillip Perry was soon going to have Lasik surgery to give him better vision without glasses or contact lenses. But before he went in for the surgery, he had to have a Lasik eye surgery review. So what is a Lasik eye surgery review?
Lasik eye surgery reviews provide people with plenty of information about what to expect out of Lasik – the pre-surgery consultation, the surgery and the post-operative experience.
Consultation: The consultation process aims at making you understand what’s involved in the process of Lasik surgery and to test you to see if you qualify as a Lasik candidate. The eye test is a must and if your surgeon does not insist on one, then you may want to find another surgeon. The consultation should include a complete overview of Lasik and other eye surgery procedures as well as a series of well defined tests.
The Lasik Procedure: Lasik involves reshaping the cornea by folding back a thin layer of the corneal tissue with a surgical instrument called a microkeratome. Anesthetic drops are placed in the eye before the surgery to numb the eye. It is a delicate surgery and is best done by surgeons who are experts in Lasik.
Post-Lasik: Many patients experience dry eyes after Lasik, although this may last for only a few hours. A short rest usually follows the surgery but in most cases, patients are sent straight home to rest. Your doctor may or may not prescribe medication but in most cases, eye drops and protective eye gear are recommended. It takes about a week to recover completely after Lasik.
