Lipo-dissolve is another way to melt away the extra rolls of fat. An alternative to liposuction, Lipo-dissolve involves a series of medicated injections that dissolve unwanted areas of fat. Lipo-dissolve can treat fat related problems in areas such as the upper and lower abdomen, thighs, upper arms, saddlebags, fat pads under the eyes and chin. It can also treat cellulite, stretch marks, scars and residual fat deposits post-liposuction.
Lipo-dissolve improves the skin tone, elasticity and increases the production of collagen. However, it does not stop the aging process and fat can appear throughout your lifetime. Liposuction is the only scientifically proven method that permanently removes fat cells. Lipo-dissolve for cosmetic use is not yet approved by FDA in the United States.
The ingredients used in lipo-dissolve may include phosphatidyl choline, multivitamins, alpha lipid acid, enzymes, and plant extracts. It may also include chemical agents such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, antibiotics, and hormones.
It is important to note that lipo-dissolve should not be used for pregnant women, nursing mothers, obese patients, people with diabetes, autoimmune diseases, vascular complications, or infections of any kind.
During a treatment session of lipo-dissolve, the medication is injected into the layers of fat and connective tissue, which produces a chemical reaction in conjunction with the body’s physiology to dissolve localized areas of fat. Benefits will be evident within three weeks of the treatment. Several treatments, four to six weeks apart, are often required to produce a satisfactory result. To maintain the results, patients will need a proper diet and regular exercise.
The risks of lipo-dissolve include slight bruising, infection, swelling or allergy. The cost of lipo-dissolve may range from $375 to $1,500 per treatment.
