Like clothes and accessories, make-up sets a trend too. If you feel that dramatic eyelids and a bright red pout is going to get you to the Style Top 10, then you need to check again. An ‘all natural’ look is in - where less is more. An economy in using make-up can give you that fresh and young look.
Make-up today is meant to enhance what you already have, not fake what you don’t. Let’s begin with the eyes – mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow and the works. Since wearing too much of mascara can make most women look older, it may be a good idea to apply a maximum of two coats to upper lashes and one coat to the lower. Brush your lashes between coats to get rid of any lumps or extra mascara.
Use a subtle eye shadow instead of a loud and bright color that shouts out loud for attention. When it comes to lining your eyes, applying less eyeliner and blending it in gives a cleaner, more defined look. If you want a smokey, soft look, try a charcoal grey or chocolate brown.
Lipstick that is too dark or bright for you can highlight fine lines around your mouth. It may be a good idea to use colors that are one or two shades darker than your lips. Also, choose a lip liner that matches the color of your lips and not the color of your lipstick.
When it comes to choosing a blush, instead of a bright pink or red, choose a shade the same color that your cheeks turn when you pinch them.
