The Israel Society of Plastic Surgeons (ISPS) latest statistics reveal that the number of cosmetic surgeries performed in Israel has experienced a 16 percent growth over a two year period. In 2005, the ISPS reported that 10,000 cosmetic surgery procedures were performed compared to 11,600 in 2007 with two months still to go in the year.
According to the ISPS, the most popular procedures were done on the breast. Thirty-six percent of all procedures were for breast reshaping, followed by face lifts, techniques to minimize wrinkles and nose jobs (rhinoplasty). Tummy tucks and liposuction held fourth place with rhinoplasty accounting for 12 percent of all procedures.
