Who wouldn’t love to have a figure like an hourglass? Or at least, some semblance of contours and curves? Most people choose Ultrashape treatments to reduce the excess fat on their thighs and abdomen. Ultrashape breaks down fat cells to enhance body contour. This treatment uses focused ultrasound waves to selectively break down fat cells while protecting the skin, nerves and blood vessels.
Ultrashape begins with an examination by the doctor where he marls the area to be treated. The operator then uses a round hand-held transducer – a device that converts electrical energy into ultrasound energy – to deliver ultrasound beams over the marked region. The beams penetrate the area to be treated and destroy fat cells. The broken down cells are absorbed by the patient’s white blood cells and burnt up by the body.
Ultrashape is a painless treatment, which takes about 60 to 90 minutes with absolutely no recovery period. Studies have shown an average loss in circumference of 2.5 cm. They also show a small percentage of people with little or no improvement. Fat released during the Ultrashape treatment may take up to 14 days to be transported away from the treated area. Most of the released fat will leave the body, but some will also be stored again. It’s a good idea to reduce the intake of fat and carbohydrates for a while after the Ultrashape treatment.
It’s advisable to get a medical checkup done before going in for Ultrashape.
