The body governing Ontario-s medical profession has approved several recommendations to tighten the regulations governing high-risk cosmetic surgery and procedures.

The Israel Society of Plastic Surgeons (ISPS) latest statistics reveal that the number of cosmetic surgeries performed in Israel has experienced a 16 percent growth over a two year period. In 2005, the ISPS reported that 10,000 cosmetic surgery procedures were performed compared to 11,600 in 2007 with two months still to go in the year.
